CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background to the study
The Bible clearly represents the Holy Spirit as possessing divine attributes and exercising divine
authority. Since the fourth century, nearly all who agree that the Spirit is a
person also agree that He is divine."
When viewed together, passages from the Old and New Testaments depict the Holy Spirit as a divine
person equal to the Father and the Son. Thus, the Holy Spirit is said to be
one of the three personalities of the trinity God, also referred to as the Trinity.
The Holy Spirit is one of
the Three Persons of the Godhead, – a compound Unity – in the Trinity of God.
God the Father is the Source of life and of all that has been divinely planned
and created. He is the Originator of our salvation and our future. He is the Heavenly
Administrator. God the Son is the Divine Alphabet–the "Alpha and
Omega"...
1.2 Statement
of the Problem.
The inabilities of the missionary to judiciously
utilised the numerous benefits of the only spirit in mission strategies have
made the work of mission difficult. Today, missionary sent by Abuja East
District use their common sense in mission to get things done, thereby
neglecting the power of the Holy Spirit, effects and impact of the Holy Spirit
on Mission strategy
is lacking in this 21st century...
1.3 Purpose of the Study.
The purpose of the research study is to determine the effects and impact
of the Holy Spirit on Mission strategy: a case study of Assemblies of God
Church Angwan Soldier in Abuja East District of Assemblies of God, Nigeria. Specifically,
the following objectives.
1. To investigate
whether Assemblies of God Angwan Soldier had any knowledge of the Holy Spirit
work on mission strategies.
2. To investigate the essential role played by the Holy Spirit on
mission strategies.
3. To outline the restrictive nature of the Holy Spirit on mission
strategies.
4. To proffers possible suggestions to these restriction of the
manifestation of the Holy Spirit encountered by missionaries:

1. Does Assemblies of
God Angwan Soldier has previous understanding of the effect of the Holy Spirit on mission strategy.
2. Effects and impacts of the Holy
Spirit visible on mission strategies in Angwan Soldier in Abuja East
District of Assemblies of God?
3. What are the possible restrictive
nature of the Holy Spirit on missionary strategy in Angwan
Soldier in Abuja East
District of Assemblies of God?
4. What are possible suggestions to
solve Holy Spirit restriction in missionary strategy in Angwan Soldier in Abuja East
District?

Significance
of the Study.
This research study is significance because it study
effects and impact of the Holy Spirit on Mission strategy.
(1) It will
unveil the important place,
role, effects, impact and the multifaceted manifestations of the Holy Spirit on
Mission strategy.
(2) It will be of immense resource material to
theologians, church leaders, ministers of the gospel, Christian and non- Christian
alike.
(3) It will help missionaries in their work.
(4) It will contribute to literature and
research.
1.6 Scope of the Study.
The scope
of the research study is limited in scope to the effects and impact of the Holy
Spirit on Mission strategy: a case study of Assemblies of God Church Angwan Soldier
in Abuja East District of Assemblies of God, Nigeria.
1.7 Limitation of the Study.
Financial constraint-
Insufficient fund tends to impede the efficiency of the researcher in sourcing
for the relevant materials, literature or information and in the process of
data collection ( questionnaire and interview). Time constraint-
The researcher will simultaneously engage in this study with other academic
work. This consequently will cut down on the time devoted for the research
work.
1.8 Definition of Terms.
Effects: the
art of planning and directing overall military operations and movements in a
war or battle.
Impact: the
action of one object coming forcibly into contact with another.
Holy Spirit: the Holy Spirit is a
divine person, the third person in the trinity, a being with a mind, emotions,
and a will.
Mission: the
act or an instance of sending.
Strategy:
a plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim.
