THE EFFECTS OF UNFORGIVING ATTITUDE OF CHRISTIAN ON THE CHURCH

CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION

1.1       Background to the Study

The inability to forgive remains one of the central dilemmas in the human experience. It is also one of the most crucial enterprises in which we must engage ourselves. The reason is closely related to our own need of forgiveness. We are all in the same situation. We have all sinned (violated the laws of God), and are therefore worthy of death (Romans 3:23; 6:23). No matter what or how a person offends us, it is our choice whether we forgive or do not forgive them. From a Biblical viewpoint, to forgive is good and to not forgive is bad. Unforgiveness is a sin that causes us to think and do evil things. Ephesians 4:31 “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice.”advises us to put away bitterness, wrath, anger, and malice that comes from unforgiveness...
