INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background
to the Study
This study deals with Immorality and Its Implication for the Church: A Case Study of Assemblies of God Church Ororokpe Section. Immorality in the church has grown to a level that creates fear and tension in the heart of anyone who has concern for the future of the church. Churches are battling with the issue of immorality, which affects the growth of the church. Immorality has great and grievous consequences both to the individual and the church. A lot of death, diseases and infestations and the free operation of familiar spirits in the church come as a result of the sin of immorality. God’s presence leaves the church whenever immorality comes into the church. Immoral living puts off the fire of revival from the church and drives away the presence of the Holy Spirit out of the church. 1.2 Statement
of the Problem.
Immorality
restricts the power and flow of the Holy Spirit in the church. Today it seems the church sees it has a norm
to do or commit immortality. In Ororokpe Section
immorality appears in various forms, like fornication, stealing, pride, fraud, deception, intimidation, drug
offences, smoking, flirting, and social vices among others. These factors have
a lot of implications on the church. Hence this research study to profer
solutions.
1.3 Purpose of the Study.
This study examines immorality and Its
Implication for the Church: A Case Study of Assemblies of God Church Ororokpe
Section. Specifically, the study seek to ascertain the concept of immorality, the causes of immorality,
the effects of
immorality in the church, and measures to overcome
immorality in the church.

Significance
of the Study.
The study is of a great benefit to the youths, ministers
of the gospel, theologians, members of the church and researchers. To the
youth, it will eradicate immoral life among the youth, and to the ministers of
the gospel, it will increase the
knowledge on how to tackle immorality among members in the church, and
to theologians, it will expose them to the nature of the extent of
immorality among members in the church...
1.6 Research Procedure
The researcher employ library and field
investigations. Data were collected through questionnaire and oral interviews
that will be distributed to respondents in Assemblies of God Church Ororokpe
Section for the purpose of gathering information through prepared questions and
examined for true representation. The research study will be predominantly
library, internet and field investigations. This research was conducted to
achieve the goals and objective of this research study.
1.7 Delimitation of the Study.
This
study is limited in scope to Immorality and Its
Implication for the Church: A Case Study of Assemblies of God Church Ororokpe
Section.
Ororokpe Section is under Sapele District, with 4 Sections, 4 Pastors and 350
members. Ororokpe Section is located in Sapele
and Oghara, in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.
1.8 Definition of Terms.
Immorality: is an act of involving in things that is against moral
values, such as social vices, killing, stealing, fornication, cultism,
kidnapping among others.
Implications: the action or
state of being involved in something.
Church:
a building used for public Christian worship or it can also be regarded as a
place of worship where people (Christians) come together to worship, prayer and
serve a supreme being called God.
