UNFORGIVENESS AND INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP AMONG MINISTERS

CHAPTER ONE

INTRODUCTION

1.1       Background to the Study.

This study dealt with Unforgiveness and It’s Implications among Ministers: A Case Study of Assemblies of God Church Sapele District. The inability to forgive remains one of the central dilemmas in the human experience. It is also one of the most crucial enterprise in which people must engage themselves. The reason is closely related to their own need of forgiveness. Most persons are all in the same situation. They have all sinned (violated the laws of God), and are therefore worthy of death (Romans 3:23; 6:23). No matter what or how a person offends one another, it is the person’s choice whether to forgive or not to forgive such one. From a Biblical viewpoint, to forgive is good and unforgiveness is bad. Unforgiveness is a sin that causes one to think and do evil things...

1.2       Statement of the Problem.

Today most ministers are living in bitterness, anger, strife, disunity, division, enemity among others. This can be as a result of unforgiveness, forgetting that to be unforgiving is to disobey God and to depreciate the greatness of His gift. There are many consequences and curses of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness prevents one from coming into God’s presence, which have direct negative impact on the church. Having unforgiveness in one’s heart means that one is living in rebellion against God, which will hinder the free flow of his Spirit. God has no mercy for someone that continues to sin and refuses to forgive others, especially ministers...
